Hi, I’m Charlotte, and I’m the founder of Worklife Design.
I’m a professional, fully trained coach and psychologist who is
passionate about helping people achieve happiness in their work.

Why? Because I know what it's like to have a career that makes
you unhappy.

My career change story
Working as a senior consultant, I found that my work began to
dictate my life. I felt stressed, increasingly unhappy, and asking
myself ‘is this it?’. Having spent years getting a good education and
developing a successful career, I found myself wondering what it
was all for. I left my job and went backpacking round the world. This gave me the space I needed to realise that my values had changed, to realise that I no longer wanted to be part of the rat race , or to have the lifestyle that goes with it.

Upon returning to the UK, I decided to train as a coach, and haven’t looked back since. Using my knowledge of psychology and my coaching skills to help others design their work lives is incredibly rewarding. It’s fantastic to see how much happier people can become when they are given the right support and encouragement.

Experience & Qualifications
Prior to setting up Work Life Design, I spent 9 years working as a consultant organisational psychologist. The role required a detailed understanding of human behaviour and motivation, along with the ability to communicate with people at all levels, from operators to senior executives. I have experience of working with a range of private and public sector clients, such as BP, Exxon Mobil, Network Rail, National Air Traffic Services, and the MOD.

I have completed the Barefoot Coaching Training Course in Personal and Business Coaching. The course is the first professional coach training course in the country to be accredited by a UK University and also by the National Council of Psychotherapists. I am an Associate Member of the Association for Coaching.

My coaching style is warm, compassionate, open-minded, and flexible. I will challenge you when necessary, for example in helping you to overcome self-doubt.

A bit about me
I live in Devon with my fiance, James. I love nature, wildlife and the outdoors. My other interests include dance, reading, horse riding, self-sufficiency, and sustainability.

Why choose me?
With so many coaches to choose from, so why choose me?

I think there are 6 key reasons:

  • Career specialist: I'm one of only a few coaches organisations in the UK that specialises exclusively on helping professionals make positive changes in their work lives.

  • Personal experience: I have been in a career that wasn't right for me, I have changed career, and I have set up a business, so I know the fear and the challenges that people who want to make changes in their work life face. I am very passionate about helping people solve their work-related problems.

  • Values: My focus is on helping you create a happy, healthy, & fulfilling work life. I believe happiness is more important than money or status.

  • Credentials: I am qualified to masters-level in both organisational psychology and coaching. I have worked as a psychologist for 10 years.

  • Calmness & empathy: My clients tell me that I have a natural ability to put them at ease, that I show warmth and empathy, and a genuine desire to help them.

  • Adaptability - Everyone is different, so I adapt my coaching techniques and approach to suit you.
