What is Coaching?
In short, coaching is a partnership that helps you to move from where you are now to where you want to be.
During the coaching process you will
- Have time to think about what you want from your life
- Identify the best way to achieve what you want
- Work through any barriers to your own success, such as limiting beliefs and self-doubts
- Set & commit to goals that will enable you to succeed
As your coach, my role is to act as:
- A non-judgmental and confidential partner
- An objective sounding board for your ideas
- A guide to your thinking
- Your own personal cheerleader & champion
I will achieve this through:
- Providing thinking space in a safe environment
- Listening with 100% rapt attention
- Asking incisive questions which act as a catalyst for your thinking
- Giving support and encouragement
- Providing constructive feedback
- Ensuring you stay focused on your goals

What Coaching is Not
Counselling / Therapy
Coaching isn’t about helping you come to terms with past experiences in your life. Coaching focuses on your future, on helping you move from where you are now to where you want to be. A coach will help you to overcome your own internal barriers, such as self-doubt and limiting beliefs, but the focus remains on positive action.
Consultancy
A coach will not tell you what career choice to make or what steps you need to take to achieve it. The coach’s role is to act as a guide to your thinking, enabling you to answer these questions for yourself. By identifying your own solutions and achieving goals you have set for yourself, you will feel empowered and full of confidence.
